Trinidad Coastal Wedding Inspiration
As much as I love photography, during a recent workshop I was fascinated with the world of creative styling that I had no clue existed up to that point.
What is creative styling? In the wedding world, a stylist ideally, is the first to interact with a soon to be married couple. The purpose of this interaction is to get to know the couple as they are and create an event around their unique story - which, regardless of the couple, location or any other demographic is always truly authentic and one-of-a-kind. The job of a stylist is to pick up on all the details and nuances that make a story unique, define the vision of how this will be brought to life in the form of a wedding celebration, and pick, or recommend vendors that will share the vision and tell the story in the best possible way.
Outside of the wedding world, a stylist is still a storyteller - and is the best person to find when a maker, florist, calligrapher, furniture designer, brand, you name it - wants to find the best possible way to show the world, not just what they do, but who they are and what they're unique story is.
I am intrigued by this world of storytelling and plan on taking on the role of creative styling with every chance I have. So that's exactly what I did for this shoot I styled and captured at Trinidad Head, California just a few weeks ago. It was so much fun to put all the details together, I can't wait to take on the role of stylist & photographer again soon!
